Alexi Stankowski
My journey into portrait painting and sports art began in 2018, after years of exploring and experimenting throughout my tattoo career. I attended workshops with David Hummer at the Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art (WMOCA), where I learned the art of mark making with brushes through oil painting portraiture. Over the next few years, I refined my style with acrylic and oil painting commissions, drawing inspiration from other artists.
In August 2023, I felt called to grow further and attended a workshop with the legendary Master Artist and Art Professor Victor Wang. There, I learned an impasto technique for portrait work that transformed my approach.
Portraits are a challenge, demanding patience and discipline. I strive for expressive realism, using a mix of tools—acrylic and oil-based paints, markers, pens, and pencils. This approach allows me to capture the spirit and essence of the subject, from beloved pets to cherished loved ones to iconic figures. I embrace and enjoy the challenge of creating them all.
Sports art holds a special place in my heart. As a child, I loved collecting and wearing jerseys, seeing players as heroes with their incredible skills. Now, as an adult, I understand the hard work, commitment, and sacrifice it takes to reach those heights. My love for sports, especially football and basketball, is infused into my artwork. I create unique athlete portraits and hand-painted jerseys, blending passion with modern street art. My sports artwork is for all the enthusiasts out there, whether it's a piece for the office, a gift for a child who adores the NBA, or an NFL fan looking to enhance their sports haven. I'm here for all of it, sharing my love through art.

My journey into the painting world began with a long career as a tattoo artist. Since 2008, when my tattooing career started, I've been guided by a quiet pursuit of perfecting my craft. After a decade of ink, dedication, and love, my wonderful wife Megan and I took a leap of faith and opened our own studio, The Seven One Five Tattoo Collective, in Central Wisconsin.
Specializing in expressive realism, I aim to bring a vibrant and lifelike quality to each tattoo. Yet, I'm not confined to one style. I find joy in versatility, exploring various tattoo styles to bring my clients' unique visions to life. Whether crafting a bold, colorful sleeve or a delicate, intricate design, my goal is always to ensure that every tattoo becomes a masterpiece in its own right.
